That took about 2 hours then free space took about 30 min's, the first 3 took 5 at the most. But if you enable disk optimization again, it turns red again, and you force to optimize but it does nothing, and remains red. Is there any additional information that would help?  Could this be related to a recent Windows update? In my experience Disabling Norton Antivirus Autopretect  for the duration greatly speeds up the time CCleaner takes to scan the system so I do that and thinking of that makes me Thanks. TuneUp tools rarely have any beneficial effect on systems and likewise for Disc Optimization which is (a) less relevant with modern NTFS file systems and (b) done automatically during idle times Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

There's a large, orange Fix Now button. No, it's the main disk, It told me that with disk check its a 233GB disk. It is ok to use the computer when the defragmentation tool is running but I don’t I just leave the computer alone I suggest that you do this as well as this contact form It should schedule the chkdsk for the next time you restart.

In the run command box, type: chkdsk /r Then it will tell you that it will run the next time you restart the computer. This forum thread needs a solution. Should I skip that step and delete the "repository" folder, or wait to resolve the issue with Windows Management Instrumentation?

Any other suggestion? I don't whether it's 32 bit or 64. Replies are locked for this thread. navigate here R4D10Active Visitor2 Reg: 06-Nov-2013 Posts: 6 Solutions: 1 Kudos: 4 Kudos0 Re: Disk optimization error Drive C: Error Not Completed!

Also my OS disk is not damaged in any way. If any of you want I will post a video showing what happens at the end for both of them. Try using the windows defragment programme (see help and support from the start menu).  It can take 12 hours or more so make sure your on mains power, you can use Export/Backup your Identity Safe data.

Will deleting that "repository" folder" have any consequences? I think you're asking about my version of Norton 360, it's  Version: 20.4.0.40. I do not have an external floppy drive (as one post suggested). You can put it anywhere on your system that you know where to find it.

This only fixes it for a few days. Posted: 03-Aug-2013 | 12:26PM • Permalink Hi kawzman Optimisation is defragmenting the hard drive. C cleaner has two buttons, cleaner and registry, cleaning the registry can cause serious problems so it is best to leave it alone. Can you please tell us the version of Norton 360 that you are running?

In the search box type CMD. Here's a discusssion on the CCleaner Forums about cleaning pretetch that people may find interesting. As for CD drives E: DVD LG works fine, then My other DVD G: DVD-RW does not work that is most likely because it was a cheap drive.
