Thank you to both members who were helping me. check it out The tool wouldn't defrag but the GUI would report that it succeeded.  The error thrown in the CLI is "Boot optimization could not complete due to a lack of free space. (0x89000019)" After consulting Google But I am not sure whether this is your case. I tried the solution up above, and though it did replace my resporitory file[and locked it] the error message did not go away.
